September is the month to register for the library card. District library branch staff take the opportunity to remind parents, caregivers and students that a library card can be the first step on the path to academic success and lifelong learning. life long.
“There is nothing more stimulating than signing up for your own library card,” said Kimberly Feltner, Deputy Director of the BDL.
This is not just for books, but provides access to technology, media resources and educational programs.
“A library card gives students the tools to be successful in the classroom,” she said. “It provides opportunities for people of all ages to pursue their dreams and passions. ”
Tutoring services are available in over 200 academic subjects and test preparation. One-on-one live help is available from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Students can connect with a tutor, submit an article for review, get help with a test, or prepare for an interview.
With Hoopla, the BDL digital library provider, hundreds of movies, books and music can be streamed on one device.
During the month of September, new adult cardholders will be entered into a draw for a $ 100 Visa gift card. Young people will participate in a draw for a basket of school supplies.
