Kate Middleton’s Nizam of Hyderabad necklace is worth £66.3million – more than Meghan Markle

Kate Middleton wore the most expensive royal jewel, the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace. According to research by jewelry box, the British royal family’s Nizam of Hyderabad necklace is worth £66.3 million. It is therefore the most precious jewel currently owned by a royal family.

Meghan Markle appeared at the Manchester One Young World Summit in Manchester on Monday, sporting two new pieces of jewelry.

These included the Tabayer Oera earrings in Fairmined 18k yellow gold, which cost $3,300, or around £2,850.

The Duchess of Sussex also opted for the Fairmined Tabayer Oera 18k yellow gold ring.

This ring is selling for a whopping $3,800, or around £3,280.

Together these are £6,130 which is a low price compared to Kate’s Nizam of Hyderabad necklace.

Charlotte White, head of design at Europe’s largest online diamond jeweler 77 Diamondspreviously spoke to Express.co.uk about the necklace.

She said: “Kate’s jewelry style choices are widely recognized as being flawless and have attracted legions of fans.

“She certainly donned some of the most precious, rare and valuable jewelry in the world in her day,” the expert said.


The necklace is worth so much that jewelry box experts estimate it would take the average Londoner 1,718 years of work to afford it.

The brooches that come with the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace are known as Queen’s Nizam of Hyderabad Rose brooches.

According to fine jewelery and engagement ring experts Steven Stone, these brooches are valued at £80,000.
