Kate Middleton would have “extended a hand to Meghan much more”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed a baby girl named Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana to their family on June 4, but the Harry family side in the UK have yet to meet the new addition.
A source said Us weekly that Meghan’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton came into contact with Meghan after Lili was born:
“Kate reaches out to Meghan a lot more since [Lilibet] was born, she sends [notes and] gifts and trying to form a relationship, ”the source said. “The company has asked staff members to reach out more to Harry and Meghan to get them to mellow out a bit.”
This report also comes after Meghan and Harry’s explosive interview in March with Oprah Winfrey in which the couple revealed their deep frustrations with the royal institution, aka “the firm”.
One of the rumors Oprah touched on in the interview was the report that, before Meghan and Harry’s wedding, Meghan made Kate cry. Meghan told Oprah the opposite was true, but that she and her sister-in-law made things right.
“No. [I didn’t make Kate cry], “she said.” No, no, the reverse happened. And I’m not saying that to denigrate anyone, because it was a very difficult week of marriage, and she was upset about something, but she recognized it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note to apologize and she did what I would do if I knew I had hurt someone. To take responsibility … Everyone in the institution knew that was not true. I am not sharing this post about Kate in any way to disparage her. I think it really is. important that people understand the truth, but I also think a lot of it was fed by the media. Look, I hope she‘I wanted this to be corrected. And maybe in the same way the Palace wouldn’t let anyone else deny it, they wouldn’t let her, because she’s a good person, and I think a lot of what I have seen unfolding was this idea of polarity where if you love me you don’t have to hate it, and if you love it you don’t‘no need to hate me.
A week after Lili arrived, a reporter asked Kate if she had any wishes for her little niece. Kate smiled and replied, “I wish her all the best,” Kate said. “I can’t wait to meet her. We haven’t met her yet. Hope it will be soon.
