A mother-daughter duo helps clients plan their weddings

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Dresses, shoes, flowers and decorations, when someone plans a wedding, he accumulates a lot of things. A local mother-daughter duo is working to get these items out of people’s hands, while helping others plan weddings while saving money.

Inside the Meadowlane Mall at 70th and Vine Street is Wedding Cosign and Design. It’s more than just a bridal shop, it’s a unique family business in the area.

“It’s endless the amount of stuff we have here,” said co-owner Jenna Williamson. “You could plan your whole wedding just by walking in and looking at the decorations.”

Jenna Williamson and Cindy Manley are the mother-daughter duo behind the store. Their family had two weddings within a year of each other, so Manley’s home was filled with decor and wedding items.

“We just thought god, there needs to be a place where people can bring this stuff, and not have to try to sell it yourself,” said Cindy Manley, mother and co-owner.

“We researched consignment stores in the Lincoln area or really Nebraska, so we decided to open our own store,” Williamson said.

They opened in August 2017 and moved to a bigger building due to demand.

“In the midst of the pandemic, we decided to move to a bigger location,” Williamson said. “We needed space, we doubled our area. We were running out of space. »

Since weddings can get expensive, the family enjoys helping engaged couples plan a wedding on a budget, in addition to getting rid of newlyweds’ belongings.

“People really appreciate the fact that we’re here,” Manley said.

“It was really fun,” Williamson said. ” We are getting along very well. We always think the same thing, on the same page. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.
